Broughs Handwoven
Broughs Handwoven is the weaving studio of Hana Brough. Producing a beautiful selection of handwoven homewares and accessories that focus on the craft of weaving and an intuitive use of colour. Transforming solely natural fibres & yarns into beautifully crafted items for the home.
Hana fell in love with hand weaving whilst studying Textiles in the South West at Falmouth university, then after, spent many years working in interior retail. Having always been surrounded by fabrics, a calling to design and make her own was one Hana couldn’t stay away from.
- Handwoven and handmade
- Beautiful homewares and accessories
- All natural fibres
- Unique items for the home
- Sophisticated colour pallets
- Commissions welcomed
After testing the water by visiting fairs and crafts shows selling her wares for a couple of years, Hana decided to set up shop officially in July 2020. Finding the perfect home for her loom in a traditional Victorian building on an old dairy farm in a picturesque Northamptonshire village.
Hana’s process concentrates on the natural fibres used and the colour palettes created, loving and being inspired by the relationship between these colours. Often using her own photography as inspiration and a starting point to a new collection. Not only are the fabrics handwoven, Hana completes the whole process of each product. Weaving, finishing, sewing and selling.
The shop is a unique space which shows off each beautifully handwoven product and has the adjoining studio. You can often wonder in and see Hana weaving away the day, a creative space that suits this traditional craft perfectly. With original features of the hayrack and brickwork the setting couldn’t be better.
There is something important about understanding where something has come from and how it is made. This unique craft creates something that is distinctive and designed to last a lifetime.
Along with the unique pieces you see, Hana often takes on commissions of handwoven items. Cushions to match your colour scheme, or that perfect individual gift.
As well as a bricks and mortar shop you can also purchase Broughs handwoven pieces online, via Hanas’ website.
